Binance donates $ 1,5 million to help Coronavirus victims

In recent weeks there has been persistent talk of a virus belonging to the family of coronavirus (the same family to which the viruses of the common cold, SARS, MERS, etc. are attributable). A virus that, from China, is starting to circulate around the world creating a lot of concern in medical communities: the new coronavirus (2019-nCoV), "born" in the Chinese city of Wuhan, appears to have been favored by the sale of infected animals in a local market and, so far, has infected nearly 2.000 individuals, with cases occurring mainly in China but also starting to spread to the United States, France, Malaysia, Singapore and beyond.

Although these numbers may seem small in relation to the world population, in fact the dossiers indicate that hospitals in Wuhan have been invaded due to the influx of cases and those who believe they are sick with the coronavirus. Several sources mainly circulated on social media also claim that there would be a clear shortage of masks and other protective materials.

Fortunately, many people and companies are trying to get busy in order to improve the way they can cope with the virus, and support the victims.

Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the Chinese - Canadian businessman who runs the largest exchange of cryptocurrency of the world, Binance, he revealed in a tweet published earlier that his company will allocate "RMB 10 million (approximately $ 1,5 million) to help coronavirus victims.

If the information were to translate into reality - and there is certainly no data that cannot suggest that this could happen - all this would make Binance the first company operating in the cryptocurrency ecosystem to successfully start a charity initiative to support the victims of the latest Chinese coronavirus.

It is not the first time that Binance has shown itself to be particularly attentive to philanthropy and charity. Suffice it to recall, by way of example, that in 2018 it contributed with a million dollars to help people affected by the massive flood in the west of the Japan. The cryptocurrency company also has its own division that specifically deals with charitable activities.
